"The global changes are today's reality...a perfect storm brewing. This is a C-level issue not just an IT issue that needs to be dealt with across the organization...the CIO could be the person to lead the charge."
The Center’s 2008 research effort recognizes both the challenges and the opportunities for today’s CIO, driven by globalization and new and emerging technology. As a result, CIOs agree that they see ever increasing opportunities to evolve to a more strategic role and drive competitive advantage for their organization.
The purpose of the research is to:
Establish Center’s point-of-view on the CIO of the future and competencies required to lead in the profession
Identify competency gaps through research and benchmarking
Define research, education and other tools to help CIOs fill those gaps
The “CIO Imperative” presents the Center’s point of view, developed and refined through input, discussion, and qualitative research with a number CIO’s and Center members. We encourage you to read the Imperative and share your views.
The research will evolve as the Center continues to gain input from the CIO community through surveys, research analysis, and interviews. Our approach is summarized bellow.
