New Partnership on Collaborative Innovation
The Center for CIO Leadership is pleased to announce our newest corporate partner, Spencer Trask Collaborative Innovations, LLC (STCI). STCI will provide CIOs with a new platform for exploring industry leading innovation models and inventing new products and services. STCI is leading the revolution in collaborative innovation providing clients and partners with the ability to launch, host and manage online, real time collaborative innovation ecosystems to generate, rate and rank ideas, and then build successful ventures from the most promising innovations. STCI looks forward to collaborating with the Center in its mission to advance the CIO profession, and address key CIO challenges in driving innovation within their own organizations.
The Congestion Challenge
To kick off the partnership in August of 2009, the Center provided the opportunity for Center members to participate in The Congestion Challenge. Sponsored by the Intelligent Transportation Society of America, in partnership with IBM and Spencer Trask Collaborative Innovation (STCI), the innovation challenge focused on tackling the universal challenge facing the world’s cities – ever-growing traffic congestion. The online Solving Congestion Challenge employed STCI’s advanced open collaboration tools to identify, develop and select the best solutions to this challenge. From 100+ proposed solutions, the STCI community of more than 4,000 members narrowed the list down to 9 finalists, and the winner received $50,000 in funding.
